Note

    A goutou is the barrel tile at the bottom of each tile row used to cap the ends (Liang 1981, 78). This term is commonly found in Ming and Qing dynasty texts. An earlier term for this element is "wadang". 1

    “勾頭”是筒瓦每隴最下有圓盤為頭之瓦 （梁 1981，78）。作為蓋瓦用於檐頭以遮擋檐部。明清時期文獻中的勾頭如以前的 "瓦當"。 1
