Tianwang Hall is the first major wooden structure on the central axis of the Longxing Monastery complex. Since there is no mountain gate in monastery, Tianwang Hall plays the role of the main entrance of Longxing Temple The creation year of this hall was not recorded in the literature, but it can be inferred to be a Northern Song dynasty building based on its framework and bracket features. The hall is five bays or 23.28 meters wide, two bays or 9.62 meters deep, with a single-eave green glazed tile hip-and-gable (xieshan 歇山) roof. The total building area is about 380 square meters. The column heads are decorated with five-fold double-stolen center construction (touxinzao 偷心造) brackets. The brackets of Tianwang Hall underwent additions and modifications in the 45th year of Qianlong reign in the Qing dynasty (1780), when the first step of the Song dynasty column head layout was changed and intercolumnar bracket sets (補間鋪作) were added (pingshenke 平身科).1
